THE YOUNG SAINTS OF ALL SAINTS
Our youth group, named the Young Saints
of All Saints, began meeting in earnest this
past year with a group of our teens who
met every Wednesday night at 6:30 pm. Ranging in age from 13 to 16, the meetings revolve around a reality-based Bible Study and a review of the week’s activities by the members. Many times they discuss their”random acts of kindness” in which they have participated during the past week. They have learned to be a solid group of young Christians who share with each other how Jesus Christ works in their lives on a daily basis. They have a number of special projects planned for the New Year, including redecoration of the youth room upstairs in the parish hall.
The Young Saints are also an integral part of our Vacation Bible School held each year in the first week of August, as they provide assistance and direction for the younger children who attend VBS, both from our church and the community at large. There are four parts that are emphasized in the work of the Young Saints - Study, worship, service and fellowship. They have enjoyed swim parties and other activities as a part of their growth in the Christian community.
In a project this year, the Young Saints of All Saints were asked “How do you feel connected with Jesus?” and “What we thank Jesus for.” Some of their answers displayed great faith and wisdom. “If I could thank Jesus Christ for anything, I would thank him for allowing all the people in my life.”….”For everyone at All Saints is what I am most grateful for.” “I thank Jesus for dying for me.” “By praying and hearing God’s word.”
The group also participated in sending a box of “goodies” to a young man in our family who was serving in Afghanistan. All teens are invited to become a part of the Young Saints of All Saints!
